Keeping Up With Paintball Tactics
In order to improve your paintball playing skills you will need to continually learn new and improved tactics. By doing this you won't reach a plateau of competitive ability. There are many suggestions and ideas for paintball tactics, many you can find at online message boards. As a beginner you will need to learn some basic paintball tactics to start out, but eventually, with practice, you will be come intuitive to what things you should be paying attention to and what move to make next. Being able to assess the opposing team before beginning the game will also be helpful in planning paintball tactics with your team beforehand.
A basic paintball tactic that everyone should learn to remember is to always be totally ready to play when you step on the field. For example, you should have your gear on securely, make sure your hopper is fully loaded and your CO2 tank is ready. Also remember to take the barrel safety plug off upon entering the field, before shooting. If you are new to paintball, move around the field cautiously until you get a feel for it, and try not to cross into open spaces. People with good basic paintball tactics should also be aware of the markers that separate each team. Some paintball players find it helpful to learn new tactics by playing online paintball games.
As you progress and learn new paintball tactics you will figure out the most effective ways for you to move across the field. Usually players want to crawl to new cover and body camouflage is a plus. For the most effective paintball tactics you should avoid tunnel vision by constantly being aware of what is going on everywhere around you. Tunnel vision makes you loose focus on everything but one target and by doing this your enemy will most likely catch you by surprise.
When you are moving across the field there are several precautions you want to take. As with all other paintball tactics, your movement on the field will improve with further experience. The key thing to remember when moving about is that any sudden noises will attract unwanted attention for your opponent.
To avoid making too much noise, be sure that you have some way of keeping your paintballs in the hopper from rattling. Wearing soft soled shoes and soft material clothing will help cut down on the noise as you are tactically moving. When you decide to move to different covers and you are not being shot at, take your time because this will keep things more quiet. If you must move when shots are being fired at you the basic paintball tactic is to move fast and in short incraments.
Along with all of these basic individual paintball tactics, your team should discuss the overall plan of action you all will take on. Being aware of what your other teammates are doing is an almost necessary piece of information. As said before, most people will learn to read the field and opponents in order to plan out paintball tactics specific for each game. Because your opponent will be hiding in bunkers or behind trees and rocks, learning to identify the shape of a paintball gun will be helpful in finding where your enemies are.
